Design considerations

The force generated by the EDU depends on the external load. In case of an external overload or blocked movement the maximum generated force is limited by a hydraulic pressure relief valve.
The EDU is designed for moving loads in line with the plunger. Side load must be prevented, spherical joint connections and proper guiding is required.
The cylinder movement can be blocked hydraulically. However, this is not a mechanical lock and may not be used as safety stay.
